At IRST, we combine over three decades of driver training expertise with the latest vehicle technologies to deliver safer, smarter, and more responsive HGV driver training. Our courses now integrate advanced systems that demonstrate how innovation enhances awareness, control, and decision-making behind the wheel.

Through hands-on, real-world training, drivers experience the role of Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) — all of which help prevent loss of control, skidding, or rollovers in critical situations. These active safety technologies continuously monitor performance and surroundings to reduce risk before impact, empowering drivers to remain in control when it matters most.

We also introduce newer innovations such as Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Steering Assist, and Lane Change Assist (LCA) — systems that use cameras, radar, and satellite navigation to monitor driver behaviour and vehicle movement. Together, they form an intelligent safety network designed to support drivers in maintaining safe speeds, lane discipline, and overall vehicle stability.
